I Manoharudu (2015) Movie Review

Vikram is without question one of the film's finest strengths. The efforts he has put in for his role on the screen are clearly apparent. As a bodybuilder he is outstanding, pushing the edge with his appearance, and acting as a hunchback guy. Even with his heavy makeup, the way he showcased pain and grief is just wonderful.

Amy Jackson is suited for her part and looks stunning. Visuals are top-notch and the whole credit should definitely go to Shankar to think something else and on a big scale. All the songs were filmed well, and excellent production quality.

Makeover execution for Vikram is of international standard and raises its character to a different level. Although the first half has good entertainment, the second half is both emotional and violent. In his negative role Upen Patel does well, and so are Santhanam and Suresh Gopi.

So much excitement and aspirations will ruin this film's result. With his previous films, Shankar has raised the bar so high but, sadly, I fail to meet those expectations. The film and its execution fail to realize us that we're watching a Shankar movie. He stacks up unnecessary elements and in many places drags out the movie.

The last fifteen minutes of the first half are below average, and it is very dull the love story seen in this section. In time the film moves back and forth, and here the screenplay takes a severe beating. Maybe Shankar has lost songs in the story for the first time in his career.

Then yet another major downside is the film's unnecessary scope. He could easily have trimmed many scenes and fights. When the twist is revealed the plot is predictable in the second half. "I" is theoretically a genius picture. The music by R Rahman is good, and so is the background score. The make-up and prosthetics used for the character of Vikram are mind-blowing, as mentioned earlier.

The camerawork of P C Sreeram is fantastic and gives the film an international feel. All of the episodes filmed in China were gorgeously made. The sets crafted and scaled of the movie are certainly up to Shankar's level. The dubbing of Telugu is decent, and so are dialogues.

Shankar's screenplay lacks detailing in many areas as you don't get emotionally attached to the film. The way Vikram 's character in the first half has been sped up to take vengeance on his rivals and is vague. Overall, 'I' definitely touches the lowest point of engagement for any of the movies that Shankar has ever made to date.

Its excessive length, weak story, and lack of emotional connection are fundamental disadvantages. But keeping the festival season in mind, Shankar 's grand visuals paired with Vikram and Amy Jackson's mind-blowing results, this film can be given a chance. You just have to go in without any expectations whatsoever.
