It's not enough that we get to introspect and comment about our own cinematic style, in splits all the time, and still nodding in approval. Kobbari Matta is an intricate spoof on the heroics and the melodrama of a family drama with a commercial hero.
Pedrayudu (Sampoornesh Babu) is the head of the village and the figure of god for all. So much so that before he wakes up nobody does anything-when I say anything it could be anything from taking a dump to giving birth. His family consists of four younger daughters, two younger sisters, three wives, and three family members of the servants he addresses as a child.
This family is very close ... really close. So close they 're all dormant in the same bed. Everyone, yes. Pedarayudu loves his brothers so much that he forbids them an education because that would mean they 'd have to go to study in another place.
You know where this mess will head towards from here! The brothers end up deciding that they will live a separate life of their own from here which is the path to all tragedy. Pedarayudu's loyalty to his family (as determined by his father Paparayudu) and Androyudu 's entry, Pedarayudu's look-alike pretending to be his uncle, the reasons behind it and the theatrics to which the whole film leads.
One of the movie's most important assets is the boundless dose of comedy. The first half is full of surreal humor, and so easily could Burning Star Sampoornesh Babu pull off a triple role as grandfather Paparayudu, son Peddarayudu, and grandson Androidu. His performance is superb in every character and he does an excellent job in every frame.
Another highlight of the film is the judgment scenes in the village, and how they are narrated with a racy storyline and generate huge laughs. The crowd cheers and whistles at every dialog Sampoornesh Babu utters in theatres. His dialogues put the soul in its character and make it more attractive and expressive.
Mahesh Kathi has been playing a deeply engaging role of comedy, marked by quirky and a chain of satirical punches. The actress Shakeela gets a perfect character after a long time, and she shines as Mahesh Kathi 's wife. In his role PRO Eluru Srinu, who has a cameo in the movie, was terrific. Ishika Singh and Gayathri Gupta well performed their roles and gave the protagonist excellent support. More than the story, star cast performances lift the movie up.
