In this film, the most fascinating, oddly humorous segment is when Abhi and Vasu invite Maha to have a coffee and persuade her that her relationship is their life. Then they confess their love to her one after the other. The word of Maha seeks to communicate fear, confusion, and everything that goes with it. In the meanwhile, we 're smiling at the way the scene is going.
When the friends realized they falling to the same girl, they were honest about it and let her pick. there's no heavy-duty drama. Kishore Tirumala is pulling a surprise and keeping a movie cliché away. He's going to send broad clues — of friends getting split ways and a girl on the picture ... like setting up a regular melodrama. The way friends approach the confrontation and the scene of the mutual plan, though, breaks up the routine.
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara could recall the title, but this movie is not related to it. A slice of life buddy flick is marketed in several segments. The story does not make mere props from the other friends who are well-known to Priyadarshi and Kireeti Damaraju. In this story about Abhi and Vasu, their voices also matter. Kireeti finds peace in a pulpy orange drink even if he hangs out with his alcohol-loving friends.
This nice-guy part is contrasted by Priyadarshi's cocky attitude, even though he is the 13th man to play cricket. She is clean and in Vizag and Ooty the story is beautifully captured with the film of Sameer Reddy and the sharp background of Devi Sri Prasad.
The similarities in storytelling are striking for those who have watched the director's Nenu Shailaja. This one too begins with an episode in her childhood and there is also a girl here who feels heavily weighed by her family (in this case the father). Fortunately, these similarities are not too long gone.
The part that Maha realizes with the help of Abhi and his musical band her childhood dream of singing on stage is pleasant. In their pieces are beautiful Ram and Anupama, and Sree Vishnu suits a brooding guy's image. Had only contemporary-classical fusion music improved and perfectly. Apart from that, DSP tags the catchy 'Whatamma, what is this amma? ’.
What progresses as a brisk story becomes bogged down, with too many friendship dialogues. There's an attempt to make it easier. Unlike Maha, Maggie is a light-hearted character (Lavanya Tripathy) and the actor pulls it well. It's a relief to not see Lavanya synonymous with that flowing lehengas.
In this movie, there's plenty to like, but yet it feels like a stretch. It would have been a good coming-of-age mate in a crispier narrative.
