Joseph Kuruvilla(Vijay) and his six-year-old daughter is enjoying a simple life in Kerala. There, he encounters Annie (Amy Jackson) a school teacher, and starts to grow connected to her. Joseph gets into a fight with the local goons as time goes by and bashes them up big time.
Surprised by the hostility of Joseph, Annie continues to investigate him and discovers a surprising fact that he was a brazen ex-police officer named Vijay Kumar.
What is this Kumar of Vijay? How has he settled in Kerala? What's your past? And where is Samantha in the whole setup? You need to watch the film on the big screen to learn the answers to those questions.
There's no question that Vijay is the film 's biggest highlight. He actually played a more mature character for the first time and inspired big time. The way Vijay portrayed various emotions with different colors in his role is clearly amazing. His look as the rugged cop and all of his confrontational scenes with the villain is pretty sweet, particularly.
Samantha is one more bonus to this series. Her role is tailor-made because through her lovable performance she brings warmth and insight into the proceedings. The highlight is the interval bang which was done in a thumping manner. Some of the film's greatest drawbacks is its predictability. Since the very first shot, you know exactly what will happen next. There are no big twists or turns to get you entertained.
Amy Jackson looks out of place and her odd hairdo doesn't much help. But another downside is that there is no clear flow in the video. And if both of these aspects are narrated decently by the director, he gets carried away and keeps watching the film side by side.
The film's soundtrack is incredibly disturbing as none of the songs seem to register. G V Prakash 's background score is excellent and elevates the film to the right locations. Screenplay is mediocre as big scenes in the plot should have been crisply arranged. Production standards are excellent as the film looks rich in color and graphics are supremely well provided by the thumping camerawork.
Coming to the director Atlee, he has dealt decently again with the different emotions. The way he's treated and highlighted a big celebrity like Vijay is very amazing. If he had added a few more exciting elements and reduced runtime and unnecessary scenes, the effect would have been even better.
Even though Policeodu is a massively predictable word go picture, elements like the success of Vijay, the lovable character of Samantha and some commercial thrills can keep you involved in the proceedings. Vijay 's fans must have liked his performance in Tamil but this movie is just a passable masala entertainer for the Telugu audience.
